THE ART OF BREASTFEEDING

Okay, first of all let me just say that this rocks. With so much debate over the exposure of breastfeeding, this piece definitely stood out to me. It is a direct statement against the war on public breastfeeding. One thing I really appreciated about this display was that instead of arguing on the topic, the artist has chosen to inform us and nothing more. Although each picture is a work of creative expression, I do not find this piece to be intensively creative. Rather, I believe it to be a tribute to the raw beauty that breastfeeding offers. It is because of this that I will give the piece a 1.5 out of a 3 point creativity scale. I do not believe this piece to be unique to any specific artist, but I do find it to be wildly bold, relevant, and necessary. Below I've attached a picture of the artists statement; you'll notice that each one of the pictures in this display depicts a different breastfeeding relationship. Every mother is different and so is her baby - this art piece not only sheds light to an otherwise taboo topic, but highlights the critical relationships that mothers form with their children during the breastfeeing process.

In order to further clarify my rating, I would like to start by evaluating what a 3 out of 3 would look like. To me a 3 out of 3 would be something completely unique and complex. It would be something that looks like it took a lot of time, as well as thought put into it. A 3 out of 3 would be a piece that is totally exclusive to that artist's style and would not be easy for the regular person to do or replicate. While I do believe this piece has a beautiful message behind it, I think it took very little skill/creativity to literally make it.
